Statement of Faith

We The Valley Church exist to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in order that the lost might be found, that the found might be equipped, and that the equipped might go forth empowered by the Holy Spirit to be salt and light in our communities, our nation, and our world to the glory of God.

The Scriptures

We believe the Bible, which includes the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, to be the verbal (word-for-word), inspired (God Breathed), infallible Word of God without error in the original manuscripts. The word of God is the foundation on which this church operates and is governed. The Bible is our sole and final authority for faith, belief, and practice. The people of God are called to commit God’s word to memory, to study it diligently, to obey it faithfully, and to teach it accurately. All of scripture is the testimony of Jesus Christ.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 | Psalm 119:11 | 2 Timothy 2:15 | 2 Timothy 4:2

The Doctrine of God

We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory; that this triune God has always existed, created all, upholds all, and governs all things. We believe this triune God is omniscient (knowing everything), omnipotent (all powerful), omnipresent (with us at all times), unchanging, and sovereign over all the universe. We believe he created the universe and world in six literal days. He created the world and universe from nothing, and the universe declares His invisible qualities.

Genesis 1:1-2a | Deuteronomy 6:4 | Matthew 28:19 | John 10:30 | Psalms 90:2 | Revelation 22:13 | John 1:1-3 | Psalm 19:1 | Romans 1:20 | Isaiah 14:27

A.) God the Father

We believe in the person of God the Father, a boundless, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love; that He concerns himself mercifully in the affairs of all mankind; that He hears and answers prayer; and that He saves mankind from sin and death to all those who come to Him through faith in His son Jesus Christ.

Deuteronomy 33:27 | Psalms 90:2 | Psalms 102:27 | John 4:24 | 1 Timothy 1:17 | Titus 1:3

B.) God-The Son, Jesus Christ

We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ, that he is fully God and fully man; and that He is God’s only begotten son. He is the living Word and was with the Father before there was anything. We believed he lived a sinless life and that He paid the full penalty of our sin when he died on the cross as our substitute. He bore our sins in His own body and shed his blood for the forgiveness of sin. Christ's death was the perfect, final, and eternal sacrifice, and we add nothing to it by our own efforts. The death of Christ is sufficient to save all men but is effective and applied only to those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ with all their heart, with all their soul, with all their minds and all their strength as well as start their journey with Christ in their heart towards repentance.

We believe that Jesus died, was buried, and then rose from the dead in the same body, though glorified; that it was a real event seen by hundreds of people over a forty-day period. He now sits at the right hand of God the Father as our representative (advocate) interceding for the believer to the Father. He is the author of life. He is the head of the church and the first born of the dead; One day he will judge the living and the dead. In the future Christ will come in the air to catch away the church (The Rapture). After the Tribulation, Christ will return to the earth to establish His Kingdom.

We believe that one day every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.

Luke 1:34-35 | John 14:9 | John 1:1,14 | John 14:6 | 1 Corinthians 15:3 | Acts 1:3 | Luke 24:51 | 2 Timothy 4:1 | John 5:22,27 | 1 John 1:2 | Matthew 26: 27-28 | 1 Peter 2:24 | Ephesians 2:8-9 | Hebrews 10:10-14 | Titus 3:5 | Colossians 2:13 | 1 Timothy 2:6 | 1 John 2:2 | Mark 12:30| Acts 2:38 |

Acts 3:19| Zechariah 14:4 | Colossians 1:15-20 | Philippians 2:10-11 | Isaiah 45:23 |

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 | Revelation 19:11-20:6

C.) God-The Holy Spirit

We believe in the person of the Holy Spirit, who is fully divine. His purpose is to testify and point mankind to Jesus Christ, the Spirit of Truth. We believe He exalts Christ and convicts’ mankind of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He enables (Helper) mankind to understand the truth that brings about regeneration by baptizing the believer into the body of Christ. He cultivates Christian character, He comforts believers, and gives each believer spiritual gifts to glorify God, and serve His purpose. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and in the exercise of all Biblical gifts of the spirit. We believe he seals the believer until the final day of redemption. His very presence in a believer is the guarantee of salvation. He empowers the believer in all worship, service, and ministry.

Acts 1:8 | 2 Corinthians 3:18 | John 16:8-11 | Romans 15:13,16 | Hebrews 9:14 | John 15:26 | Galatians 5:22-23 | Romans 12:1 | 1 Corinthians 12:7-13 | 1 Corinthians 14 | Revelation 1:10 |

The Doctrine of Angels

We believe that Angels were created by God even before the universe was brought into existence. They are tasked with serving God to bring fulfillment of His will and purpose. Angels are eternal, personal, spirit-beings. We believe that there are a vast number of angels; the number is unknown. Angels are never to be worshiped, for their sole purpose is to worship and serve God. We believe Angels are engaged in continuous spiritual warfare against Satan and his demons.

Job 38:4-7 | Colossians 1:16 | Hebrews 1:14 | Hebrews 12:22 | Psalms 148:2-5 | Revelation 19:10 | Matthew 2:12,20 | Hebrews 1:6 | 2 Kings 19:35 | Ephesians 6:10-20 | Daniel 7:10 | Revelation 12:7-9 |

The Doctrine of Satan and Demons

We believe that Satan is a real spiritual being who was created by God. Unrighteousness (sin) was found to be in him when he attempted to exalt himself above God and in his act of rebellion persuaded some angels to follow him. Those who followed are now known as demons. Satan and his demon’s sole purpose is to interfere and destroy the souls of mankind. Satan has many names; Accuser, adversary, angel of light, deceiver, devil, evil one, enemy, father of lies, murderer, ruler of darkness, and the ruler of this world. Though Satan is powerful, he still must and does submit to God. Satan along with his demons will all be judged at the end of this age and thrown into the lake of fire.

Isaiah 14:12-15 | Ezekiel 28:15-16 | Revelation 12:7-10 | 1 John 3:8 | 1 Peter 5:8 | Genesis 3:1-15 | John 8:44 | 2 Corinthians 11:14 | Ephesians 2:2 | Revelation 20:10 | Romans 16:20 | Job 1:6-12 |

The Doctrine of Man

We believe that man is made in the image of God. Man was God's crowning work on the sixth day. He has been tasked with stewarding and managing God’s creation for God’s glory. Following God's creation of man (Adam), he formed the first woman (Eve) out from a rib that was taken from Adam's side. At the beginning of creation, man was innocent of sin. Mankind was given freedom of choice by God. We believe that God ordained and established marriage between both male and female (a biological male, and biological female). Marriage is a picture of the relationship that Christ Jesus(bridegroom) has with his church (bride). We believe marriage is a holy union that is intended to glorify God. Though God created mankind to fellowship with him forever, mankind sinned and fell under judgment as a result of disobedience to God's Word. Mankind’s innocence was lost, as a result of the disobedience Mankind became knowledgeable of evil. This fall put mankind justly under God's righteous judgment. Due to this fall mankind was born with a sin nature, Adams guilt was imputed to all of mankind. For God loved his creation so much that he sent his only begotten son, Jesus Christ, who paid for mankind's sin with his own blood on the cross. In order to receive this payment and come out from God's judgment, we believe that mankind must come to faith in the payment (finished works) made by Christ Jesus and repent to receive the gift of salvation.

Genesis 1:26-27 | Psalms 8:3-9 | Genesis 2:22 | Genesis 3:16-19,22-24 | Romans 5:12 | Romans 5:7-25,15-17 | 1 John 1:9 | John 3:16 | Luke 13:5

The Doctrine of Sin

We believe that sin is an action, a feeling, or thought that goes against God’s Holy Law, standards or commands. We believe all of mankind has fallen short of God’s holy standard of perfection, both by nature and choice. The result of any sin places man under condemnation before God. Sin resulted in mankind becoming spiritually dead in our trespasses and deserving of both physical and spiritual death. Having been born in Adam's sin mankind is hopeless, sinful, and without the ability to merit oneself God’s forgiveness. We believe that sin has made every man and woman in desperate need of God’s Grace for without God's Grace mankind would be unredeemable.

1 John 3:4 | Romans 3:23 | Romans 8:7 | John 3:18 | Romans 8:1 | Ephesians 2:1 | Romans 5:12 | Romans 6:23 | Ephesians 2:3 | Matthew 25:46 | Luke 16:19-31 | Revelation 20:11-15 |

The Doctrine of Salvation

We believe Salvation is by Grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. Salvation for mankind was planned and carried out by the Father, provided through the Son, and sealed by the Holy Spirit. Salvation is only given to those who confess, repent, and put their entire faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe Jesus is mankind's only Hope. The gospel is God’s glorious redemption plan, through the Lord Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, who came to earth in the flesh and lived the perfect, sinless life that we are unable to live. Jesus died on the cross as man's representative, in our place for the sins we have committed and still commit. He was buried and rose victoriously from the grave on the third day, as he was not guilty of the penalty of sin. All who put their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior will be forgiven of their sins, justified by Christ's righteous testimony alone.

We believe those who come to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ are placed into the body of Christ, and his church. As part of their salvation, all those who have been saved are sealed by the Holy Spirit and are continually being sanctified. We believe those who are saved and sealed are kept by God’s power and are eternally secure in Jesus Christ forever. Therefore, it is impossible for the saved to lose his or her salvation. We believe those who are in Christ have a responsibility to boldly proclaim the Gospel message far and wide.

Romans 8:28-39 | Ephesians 1:1-14 | 2 Timothy 1:9-10 | 1 Peter 1:2,20-21 | John 3:16 | 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 | Romans 3:24-26 | Romans 6:23 | Romans 5:12 | Romans 10:9-10 | Ephesians 2: 1-10 | John 3:1-21| John 6:37-50 | John 10: 1-18 | Romans 8:38 | Mark 16:15-16 | Ephesians 1:3 | 1 Corinthians 12:12-25

The Doctrine of the Church

We believe the church is the spiritual body of Christ of which he is the head. The church of Jesus Christ is called to glorify God and through the ministry of the Holy Spirit unite faithful believers. We believe that all those who belong to the church have been empowered by the Holy Spirit with gifts and talents aiding them to become the salt and light that helps them combat the increasing decay of darkness engulfing our communities, nation, and world. We believe that scripture commands believers to physically gather to devote themselves to worship, prayer, and the teaching of the Word of God. The church should not forsake the assembling together. Christ Jesus calls elders, and shepherds lead, protect, teach and serve believers in Christ. We believe that Jesus Christ set into place baptism and communion and commanded them to be observed by believers within the church. The church of Jesus Christ is also commanded to love one another, and to go into the world as his witnesses to make disciples.

1 Corinthians 12:12-27 | Matthew 5:13-16 | John 1:7-9 | Acts 1:8 | Ephesians 12:16 | Acts 2:42-47 | Hebrews 10:24-25 | Ephesians 1:20 | 1 Peter 5:1-4 | Acts 20:28 | Matthew 28:18-20 | Acts 2:21 | 1 Peter 4:8 | 1 John 3:16-18 | John 20:21 | Matthew 28: 19-20 | Acts 1:8

The Doctrine of the Rapture of the Church

We believe in the pre-tribulation rapture of the church of Jesus Christ, where all who are sealed by the Holy Spirit will be called to meet the Lord in the air and taken out of this world prior to the tribulation and wrath of God that will come upon the earth. Jesus will appear in the clouds and call all those who have fallen asleep and those who are still living to join him for eternity.

Romans 5:8-9 | Matthew 24:24-31 | Luke 21:36 | 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 | 1 Corinthians 15:50-54 | John 14:1-3 | Revelation 4:1 | Revelation 5:7-10

The Doctrine of the Tribulation

We believe the tribulation is a seven-year period after the Rapture of the church, that offers the world one final opportunity for eternal life, through repentance, and committing themselves completely to Jesus Christ while judgements are poured out upon an unbelieving, God rejecting world. We believe the seven years will begin after the antichrist confirms a peace treaty with the Jewish people for 7 years. This period will be the last days before the final white throne judgment for all of mankind.

Daniel 9:27 | Daniel 12:1 | Jeremiah 30:7 | Matthew 24:15-36 | 2 Thessalonians 2:7-12 | Revelation 20:11-15 | Revelation 6-18

The Sanctity of Life

We believe life begins at conception, and that human life is given by the very breath of God. Mankind is made by God in his own image. All life is precious, and abortion is contrary to God's design for mankind. We believe God’s word teaches that abortion is morally unacceptable for birth control, population control, and including the elimination of the physically or mentally handicapped.

Genesis 1:27 | Genesis 2:7 | Numbers 35:22-25 | Psalm 139:13-16 | Jeremiah 1:5 | Luke 1:13-17 | Acts 17:25 | Exodus 21:22-23 | Isaiah 46:3-4 | Matthew 19:18 | Genesis 9:6 | Numbers 35:12 |

Israel

We believe that the nation of Israel and the Jewish people are God's chosen treasures. All prophetic scripture is written through the lens of the nation of Israel and plays a central role in God’s plan. God is currently and will in future events fulfill all prophetic prophecies made to Israel. The church of Jesus Christ is to support Israel and stand firm against Antisemitism as prophetic events take shape. We also believe the church should be in continued prayer for the nation and people of Israel so that they would come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
